Exam Results 2019-2020

The Government has announced that it will not publish any school or college level educational performance data based on tests, assessments or exams for 2020. This update published here clarifies what this means for the way school and college accountability will operate for 2019/20.

Exam Results 2018-2019

Progress 8 and Attainment 8

Published GCSE results for 2019 show a positive Progress 8 score of +0.01, indicating that the Year 11 cohort exceeded national expectations. Although English had a negative Progress 8 score (-0.17), there were positive scores for Maths (+0.08) and EBacc subjects {Sciences, Humanities and Modern Foreign Languages} (+0.29). Attainment 8 was 49.0


English and Mathematics (Basics)

62% of all students gained at least a Grade 5 (a ‘strong’ pass) in English and 54% in Mathematics. Those results combined to give  49% of all students gaining at least a 5 (a ‘strong’ pass) in English and Mathematics, well above the national average of 43%


English Baccalaureate (EBacc)

Whilst 55% of all students were entered for the full Ebacc {English, Maths, Science, Language and Humanity}, 31% gained at least a Grade 5 (a ‘strong’ pass) in all subjects, well above the national average of 17%. The school's Ebacc Average Point Score was 4.57


Individual Successes

35 students (19%) gained at least five Grade 7s or higher and 14 students gained at least eight Grade 7s or higher. 24 students gained at least one grade 9 and 3 gained 6 or more grade 9s.


Pupils staying on

99% of pupils stayed in education or employment for at least 2 terms after key stage 4
