Tutor time at King James's School

Tutor time at King James's School is an important part of the school day.

According to the Partnership Development Schools Programme:

“A Form Tutor’s role is central in both caring for students and, crucially, monitoring their progress both academically and socially; encouraging involvement, commitment, and high standards of work and behaviour. The Form Tutor should be active in looking after the interests of the whole child.”

In recognition of this important part of the school day, a series of activities and resources have been gathered to enable tutors to make the most of this opportunity.

The Tutor Time Protocols booklet has been written as a guide for form tutors in tutor time.

It includes:

  • Why have tutor time protocols?
  • What makes a good form tutor?
  • Form time non negotiable
  • Form time activities
  • Form time timetables
  • How to find resources
  • Student council and key dates
